Certificated ACPSM Member Level 1

The physiotherapists should show:

  • Written evidence of certification of basic first aid skills.
  • Written evidence to support informal supervised/mentored sports specific experiential learning equivalent to 100 hours.
  • Written evidence of acquisition of introductory sports physiotherapy skills such as taping, massage, functional exercise and testing etc.
  • Written evidence of a nominated, suitably experienced mentor/clinical supervisor.
  • Documentation of CPD plan for development with sport.
  • It is expected to take approximately 2 years to acquire both the affective and cognitive skills required at Level 1. Affective and cognitive skills have been defined in the CSP policy statement on CPD (2000). This level of professional development should be considered as the NHS equivalent of a Senior 2 practitioner.
