Membership Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions, together with the Privacy Policy will govern your membership with ACPSM. Please also see the ACPSM Website Terms and Conditions which will govern your use of the ACPSM Website www.acpsm.org

In these terms and conditions the following words shall bear the following meaning:

 

ACPSM means Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Sports Medicine, 524 Richmond Road, Sheffield, S13 8NB

 

Member means any Member of ACPSM or any person or persons intending to or who have applied for membership of ACPSM upon the terms and conditions contained herein.

 

Membership Year the Membership Year will run for 12 months from the date a Member joins ACPSM.

 

Event or Events means any of the activities or events organised by ACPSM for its Members.

 

Website means the APSM Website www.acpsm.org

1. Membership

 

Members of the ACPSM will be entitled to everything described under member benefits on the Join Us page of the website

 

2. Membership Details

 

All applications for membership of ACPSM are to be made via the Website application form. By submitting the application form online, the Member is deemed to have signed the application form and if practise details have been completed on line this information will be available under the ‘Find a Physio’ section on the website which can be accessed by the general public.

On completion of an application form, each new Member will receive an e–welcome pack which will contain a membership number. A membership certificate and copy of the PRICE Guidelines Executive Summary will follow, posted to the postal address as stated on the application form.

 

On acceptance of the membership application by the ACPSM, Members shall be bound during the continuance of membership by these Terms and Conditions including any amendments made in accordance with the procedure set out below.

 

ACPSM reserves the right at all times and in its absolute discretion to determine the number of Members and may accept or reject applications for membership as it feels fit.

 

The annual membership fee for full membership is £42 and £21 for student membership. An email reminder will be sent to you when membership is due for renewal

 

All membership monies are payable in sterling, with preferred payment being an online payment. Payment can be made by standing order or by cheque .  Membership fees are revised annually and will be notified to Members in writing.

 

Clause 4 contains cancellation rights.

 

3. ACPSM Members Area

 

Any Member wishing to change, add or delete any information on themselves held on the Website are able to do so by logging in and amending the details. If you are unable to login or access this area or you forget your login or password, you can contact the Website administrator on [email protected] 

 

Information held on the ACPSM website pages is subject to the ACPSM Privacy Policy

 

Members are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their membership number, login details and passwords, and for all activities that occur under their membership number, login details and passwords, whether by themselves or anyone else using their login details and passwords. Members must ensure that they have any permissions or consents required to include material or links from the ACPSM website.

 

4. Terminating Membership

 

Membership is to be renewed annually. ACPSM will email each Member once the membership is coming up to renewal. If a Member does not pay the annual membership fee then the membership is not continued and the Member will not have the benefit of membership.

 

ACPSM reserves the right to expel Members or to prevent any Member from participating in any Event or from renewing membership if the Member puts the organisation into disrepute

 

If, for whatever reason, a Member wishes to terminate Membership, she must give 28 days’ notice of this in writing to ACPSM. We regret we are unable to offer refunds if membership is cancelled for whatever reason before the renewal date unless we receive notice of cancellation within 14 days of taking out membership.

 

5. Events and Courses

 

Members will be informed of forthcoming events and courses by email or via the Website and will be required to pay the Event attendance monies 14 days prior to the Event. Members can sign up to an event by returning completed booking form as directed. Payment for attendance at an Event can currently only be made by cheque or direct transfer.

 

CANCELLING COURSES

Cancellations to bookings made before the start of the course are subject to some considerations. If the candidate cancels attendance at the course giving more than two weeks’ notice they can either have a full refund or transfer to another similar course. If less than two weeks’ notice is given for cancellation then a full refund will not be offered however it will be possible to transfer to a similar course at a later date.  Candidates can only transfer once, if subsequently the candidate cannot attend the transfer of their choice there will be no refund. If less than 24hours notice is given of cancellation then no refund or transfer of course will be available. If the candidate fails to attend the course, the full course fee must be paid. 

CANCELLATION OF THE COURSE BY ACPSM

 

We reserve the right to cancel any course at any time without liability. In the unlikely event of this happening delegates would be offered an alternative date, course or a full refund. We reserve the right to alter course contents without prior notice as all of our courses are constantly updated to maintain a high standard of quality.

 

6. Variation of Terms & Conditions

 

These terms and conditions may be revised from time to time. If they are revised, we will post the revised version to you or email them to you. It will be your responsibility to keep up-to date with all such changes and your membership renewal and continued use of the Website shall be deemed acceptance of any changes to these terms and conditions.

 

7. Data Protection and Intellectual Property

 

We will respect the privacy of your data which you supply to us in accordance with our Privacy Policy and forms part of these terms and conditions, and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and any other applicable data protection legislation. You agree that it is your responsibility to keep your data accurate and up to date and to send us new or revised data where appropriate. You further agree that we may use your data as set out in our Privacy Policy.

 

It is your responsibility to keep your password/membership number and log-in details confidential and use the security devices offered. Our security measures depend on you complying with this obligation and we are not responsible for any breach of your privacy due to your failure either to keep your password/membership number secure or to use the other security devices correctly.

 

We will use your data to administer your membership and Events you attend. When you attend an Event your name may be included on a delegate list. Where you obtain information about other Members you must use this in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

 

Other Members may also use the personal data you make available in the Members directory. Do not make any information public which you do not want other Members to see.

 

If you have a concern about how another Member is using your personal data, or if you think it is being used in breach of these terms, please contact us at [email protected]

 

You acknowledge that the internet is not a completely secure medium, and we therefore cannot be responsible for breaches of security arising out of intentional and/or unauthorised attempts to access the Site, for example, by computer hackers. In addition, we are not responsible for the use made of your personal data by other Members who access it through the Site.

 

8. Governing Law

 

These terms and conditions shall be interpreted in accordance with English law and all disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
